Random Thoughts

Tuesdays and Thursdays just made my shitlist. Although no day at BGSU lasts longer than eight hours for me, Tuesdays and Thursdays (or as my schedule calls them, T and R) just seem like the longest. It's the two hour gaps between classes that sucks the most, and even though I'm capable of getting a lot of work done, it's these down days that I'm lost and confused... and lonely.

Hair-Pulling Mad

Two programming projects, two essays, no time, stupid Meijer, social stress already, an important decision to make, and no time for games!

And it's only Week Two!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Short List

I'm working on a CD compilation that consist of alt-rock and rock bands that feature a female vocal lead. Thus far, I have:

1. Saving Jane - Girl Next Door
2. Avril Lavigne - He Wasn't
3. Alanis Morissette - You Oughta Know (JLP Acoustic)
4. Evanescence - Away From Me (3:30)
5. Garbage - Only Happy When It Rains
6. The Cardigans - My Favorite Game
7. Vitamin C - Me Myself and I

Alanis is thrown in there for good measure, and even though her song is an acoustic version, it's still a sweet song. Vitamin C was a stretch, but again, the song (a cover, mind you) is good enough to warrant being in the collection.

However, seven songs seems short. Does anyone have suggestions for additions?

Week 1: Completed

It's Friday night -- the first Friday of the first weekend of the first week of the new semester. Party time, right?

Poop.

This semester is already, even after the first week of classes, going to be a doozie. Both of my must-take CS classes (that's Computer Science, for those few folks out there...) are hardcore programming and design theory classes, meaning I'll have to bust some serious butt to get through both of them without mixing up two very similar programming languages, C and C++.

Otherwise, my weeks could become bore-fests very quickly. Working at Meijer for that ever-so-precious green stuff will happen via short, dinky eight to noon shifts three days a week, plus the weekends. Between that, I'm pretty much on campus the rest of the day, most likely until 9pm most nights.... yuck.

So here I am. Summer is winding down, and I once again reflect... on my life up to this point, the past summer, and the Smirnoff sitting next to me. This is, afterall, nearly the perfect summer night for me -- sitting among my computers, toiling away on my writings, drinking something, and letting the cool summer night air fill my room.

But... tomorrow's another day of work, and hopefully I'll have time to work out as well... I can't wait.

Infinite Cosmic Power

Is this the key to a healthy future that we've been waiting for?

Craziness from BGSU

And this is how school starts... not with a bang, but with a silent whimper, as if I wasn't even here.

Beyond seeing no one (aside from a rather odd encounter with Aryn and a short walk with Kelly + Amber), I've already ventured home once, as I discovered that my Key Bank loan has yet to hit BGSU, thus I'm technically not a student until the $$$ passes through the $$$ vacuum known as the Bursar's Office.

But so far, my first class, Math 222, "Discreet Mathematics," is easy, and looks like it will be this entire summer. What a way to end my math career - on an easy note for a change.

Coming up at 4:30 -- Computer Science! Yay!

BTS

BTS is an abbreviation that stand for many things, but right now, it means only one thing to me:

Back To School...

Yuck!

Indeed, tomorrow I will arrive on the BGSU campus for my Fall 2006 semester - the fourth time I'll do this. I'm looking forward to seeing how things go this semester - both socially and academically.

I'm pushing to lose a ton of weight by October for the Smoky Mountains trip. I'm also hoping to push for all A's, maybe a B or two for this semester.

Tomorrow I'll update with all the best about my day, and hopefully I'll get more than a few pics on my phone to go along with it!

ACC'ing It Up

I've updated my Alternate Control Computing website to include a few update:

  • A contact phone number is now listed for quicker contact.
  • The About page actually works. Yay.
  • Dead links were removed... nothing like a technology website that doesn't work...
The link is on the left...

With back to school pretty much here, I'm hoping to find a few chaps who may need computer work done... I'm also listed in Google Local now too, with a business listing, of course. Preview it here:

Google Maps Link (letter 'F')

Enjoy your night, people... I'm off to bed for work!

Counting the Days

In less than a week, I'll be back on campus.

A moment of silence for my summer, please.

. . .

. . .

. . .

And now, to sort out all the shit and pick up from where I left off last semester...

Pumping Shit Up

I feel engergized, revitalized, and quite frankly, I love it. It turns out that the hour a day workout I'm doing at the Community Center isn't just burning some extra calories, but it's also clearing my mind, helping me to focus on what I really want right now: the new essence of B3; a healthier, stronger, better person overall.

Sounds corny, doesn't it?

Beware

Hardware keyloggers designed, installed, and monitored by PC manufacturers? What is the world coming to? I'll be keeping an eye on this one for some time to come.

Slowness

I had a pretty straightforward weekend... that is -- work, work, and more work.

Bash was last Thursday, and it was a very sucessful party. It seemed to be more of a "going away" party for Jason and Melissa in my mind, but I still enjoyed it. Denise was certainly a lot of fun ;-)

Anywho, with my summer class over, I now turn to my immediate future: more school. August 21st is coming up fast, and I'm preparing for the crazy fall semester.

I've begun a daily routine of exercising for 30 minutes a day, at least four days a week. Not only to get ready for my fall trip to the mountains, but also as a general turn-around for what has been a very, very, very lazy summer. It's only been my first day and already I feel great. My goal is to drop from 190ish pounds to 165 before Christmas. Besides, the ladies will love the new me :-)

Beginnings

Summer Bash is here.

Fair Weather We're Having, Isn't It?

Lying is officially the theme of "Almost Gone."

Benjy lies to an innocent Ashley who knows no better. He lies about where they go, why they go where they go, and what his intentions are.

He lies about himself, about her, and eventually... he'll lie to get what he wants the most...

Until the lies catch up to him...

In other news...

It's Wood County Fair week... yay for fries, corndogs, and all other forms of grease.
